The Atlant washing machine shows error code F8 on the display. However, you notice that too much water is being collected in the tank.
To figure out how to fix the situation, you need to figure out what DTC F8 means.
On electromechanical models without a display, the first indicator lights up.
What does error F8 mean?
When the Atlant washing machine displays an F8 error on the screen, this indicates that there are problems with filling the tank. For some reason, the washer takes too much water.
Before fixing the breakdown, it is necessary to check whether the drain system in the Atlant washing machine is connected correctly.
What to do to troubleshoot
Remove the error code if F8 is displayed, and the following actions will help to solve the problem:
- If connected incorrectly, the drain hose is below or above the washing tank. Correct is considered to be the location of the hose at a level of 50 cm from the floor, if improperly positioned, self-draining occurs. As a result, SM Atlant begins to draw even more water.
To reinstall, read the user manual. - Another reason may be the "siphon effect": pressure increases in the sewer, water drains. Consequently, the Atlant washer constantly takes and overflows water. What can be done: put the anti-drain valve on the drain hose.
- Check the tank for leaks in the Atlant washing machine.
You checked everything, however, resetting the F8 error did not work. This means that the cause of the problem is located elsewhere.
Diagnosis of breakdown and repair of the washing machine
It is quite possible to independently diagnose a breakdown. You just need to understand what causes the appearance of an error on the scoreboard. Since the problem is an excess of water, you need to inspect the intake valve and pressure switch (pressure sensor).
Filling valve
The valve is powered by electricity and opens when voltage is supplied to its coils. The voltage supply has stopped - the valve has closed. A sign of failure of this part is a continuous supply of water, even when the CMA Atlant is turned off.
What does it mean? Open the dispensing tray. Please note if there is water in it, although the wash is not started, in this case it is possible to diagnose a valve malfunction. More reliably the part is checked with a multimeter.
You can read more about this in the article about the F5 error.
Pressure meter
Upon reaching the required water level for washing, the pressure switch sends a signal to the control module, the flow of water stops. It is clear that a breakdown of the pressure sensor can lead to overflow.
How to test and replace the pressure switch:
- Disconnect the Atlant's washer from the mains.
- Having unscrewed bolts of fastening behind, remove the top cover.
- The sensor is located on top of the side wall.
- Disconnect the pressure switch hose and inspect for damage and blockage.
- Disconnect the connector with wires and pull out the sensor.
Now you can check it. Connect a short tube of similar diameter to the hose attachment point, blow into it slightly. If you hear clicks (which means switching modes), the device is working. If you don’t hear anything, install a new sensor.
- Connect the connector to the new pressure sensor.
- Pay attention to the latches on the back of the device. Fasten it to a special cutout located on the body of the Atlant washing machine.
- Pull the hose onto the pressure switch fitting.
- Replace the top panel.
Additionally inspect the electrical circuits from the sensor to the module. If the wires are broken, the pressure switch simply cannot send a signal to the control module. Then you need to replace individual wires or the entire loop.
It remains to start the wash and check the performance of SM Atlant.
Error code F8 no longer shines on the screen? So, the malfunction is eliminated and you have found a solution to the problem.
