If you are faced with a situation when the dishwasher does not wash dishes well, do not rush to sin for breakage. The reason may be in the careless operation of equipment, blockage, improper use of detergents. Lastly, options with a possible malfunction are considered. What to do if the PMM does not wash the dishes? Let's look for solutions together.
Causes of dishwasher malfunctioning
Some users neglect the rules: do not fill in special salt, believing that the machine will wash everything off. At first, this happens, but then stains, white coating, pieces of food remain on the plates.
What is the reason:
- machine cleaning is not done on time;
- unsuitable detergent or improper dosage;
- misuse of PMM;
- technical difficulites.
User errors, due to which the dishwasher began to wash dishes poorly:
- Poor cleaning of dishes before loading. All manufacturers warn that before washing in the machine, appliances must be thoroughly cleaned.
- Incorrectly installed program. For heavily soiled utensils, the economical or reduced mode is not suitable. You should choose an intensive program that will cope with persistent pollution.
- Incorrect placement of devices in the chamber or overload. Too dense arrangement of plates or the installation of large objects on top of small ones block the access of water. Place the dishes according to the instructions.
- Errors in the use of detergents, salt. Wrong selection of "chemistry" or adding the wrong amount lead to an undesirable result. Change the agent or reduce / increase the dosage.
If you have already checked all the possible options, but the dishes are also poorly washed, the reason may be:
- Scum. Hard water contains impurities that settle on the inside of the dishwasher. Scale clogs the holes of the sprayer, which interferes with the normal spraying of water. Installing a flow filter and using special salt can help.
- Clogging. The inlet and drain filters become clogged over time. Therefore, clean the parts.
Many users are interested in why the dishes are slippery after the dishwasher. Externally, the dishes may be clean, but to the touch it seems as if the product has been washed off poorly (and if you start with them, a salty aftertaste appears). What could have happened:
- I got a poor-quality rinse;
- nozzles are clogged or the beam does not work, so the devices do not rinse well;
- The electronic module does not work correctly.
It is recommended that the dishwasher be properly cleaned and run idle with detergent once every six months.
How to fix the situation
Details of the dishwasher can become clogged with garbage, food debris, bones, napkins. Start by inspecting and cleaning.
Filters
You can clean two filters on your own - bulk and drain. The reason for soapy and muddy dishes may be insufficient water pressure. How to be:
- open the hopper door;
- pull out the bottom basket;
- unscrew the filter, it is in the pan;
- rinse under pressure from the tap; in addition, you can clean the mesh with a brush.
Then shut off the water supply, unscrew the inlet hose. Behind it is a filter mesh. Rinse it with water or leave in a solution of citric acid.
Also clean the inner walls of the chamber from plaque by special means.
Sprinklers
The upper and lower rocker arms are equipped with holes (nozzles) through which water enters. They are also clogged with limescale and pieces of food, so the technique does not wash dishes well. Remove them from the seat. Clean the nozzles with a toothpick and rinse with running water.
After each use, check the elements for clogging.
If, even after these procedures, the PMM does not flush the devices, the case may be broken.
Technical malfunctions of the dishwasher
Your equipment has stopped washing kitchen utensils, while there are no complaints about the operation? So the parts are out of order. You can check and inspect them yourself. If necessary, it is better to call the master for repair.
Heater problems
Scale, overheating, voltage drops can lead to breakdown of the heater. In cold water, the washing quality deteriorates, and some PMMs completely stop the cycle, not finishing it. How to replace the heater; described in one of the articles. Most often, a flow heater is installed, which is located in the circulation pump unit. To check it, you have to disassemble the car.
Thermal sensor breakdown
The latest models use sensors that monitor the temperature of water heating. As soon as it reaches the desired temperature, the sensor sends a signal to the module to turn off the heater. Requires installation of a new item.
Circulation unit problems
A pump or motor makes the water circulate in the chamber, delivering jets under pressure to the dishes. The motor winding can burn, then a complete replacement of the block is carried out:
- Disconnect the machine from the communications.
- Unplug the power cord.
- Remove all baskets from the hopper.
- Unscrew the drain filter, unscrew the bolts.
- Turn the equipment upside down or put it on the back wall.
- Remove the bottom cover. Be careful, a float sensor can be attached to it.
- You will see the circulation unit and the heating elements attached to it, the pump and other elements.
- You will need to disconnect the parts, disconnect the wiring and remove the pipes.
- If the engine is faulty, replace it.
Electronic Module Failure
Since the control module directs the operation of all elements in the machine, it needs urgent repair or replacement. But only a specialist can solve this problem. Sometimes the cost of a new board is so high that it’s easier to buy a new dishwasher. An element may break due to a power surge or moisture.
If your PMM has ceased to do its job well, first look at the instructions. Make sure you operate it correctly.
